Paleoloth

Paleoloth was released in 2009 as part of the Conflux expansion for Magic: The Gathering. As a rare green creature card, it was designed to function within the set's focus on Shards of Alara block mechanics, specifically rewarding players for utilizing large, color-aligned creature strategies. It emerged during a period where Wizards of the Coast was emphasizing thematic resonance with the environment of Naya, the shard of Alara defined by its focus on massive wildlife and survival.

The card’s artwork was illustrated by Dave Dorman, a veteran artist known for his distinct, cinematic approach to fantasy and science fiction imagery.
