Where it came from
Pilgrim's Eye was originally introduced during the Scars of Mirrodin block, designed as a versatile artifact creature capable of providing deck thinning by searching the library for a basic land. Its inclusion in Jumpstart 2022 serves to maintain its role as a functional, colorless utility card that helps players smooth out their mana curves in the fast-paced, randomized environment of the Jumpstart format.
The illustration for the Jumpstart 2022 edition captures the ethereal, hovering nature of the construct, emphasizing its role as a scout for the traveler. The artwork maintains the stylistic consistency of the set while nodding to the card's long-standing identity as a helpful, albeit unassuming, tool for players seeking to ensure land consistency throughout a game.
