Provenance

Where it came from

The Plasma Caster card, numbered 918 within the Fallout set for Magic: The Gathering, was released in 2024 as part of a collaborative set celebrating the iconic post-apocalyptic role-playing game franchise. The set was designed to capture the distinct retro-futuristic aesthetic of the games, featuring imagery and mechanics that mirror the source material's exploration of technology, survival, and wasteland culture.

The illustration depicts the high-energy weapon central to the Fallout series' arsenal, rendered in a style consistent with the game's art direction. As a functional game piece, it was integrated into the Modern Horizons 3 and Commander-focused releases to provide players with synergy-driven gameplay, reflecting the resource management and tactical combat characteristic of the Fallout universe.
