What it does
All Slivers have "2 generic mana, tap: Regenerate target Sliver." (The next time that Sliver would be destroyed this turn, instead tap it, remove it from combat, and heal all damage on it.)
"Its broad claw suggests a chitinous shield, but in fact it conceals glands that secrete a remarkably swift healing agent."— Rukarumel, field journal

Where it came from
Poultice Sliver was originally released in the 2006 Magic: The Gathering set Time Spiral. Designed as part of a cycle of creatures that bestow abilities upon all other Slivers on the battlefield, the card was intended to provide a defensive utility, allowing players to regenerate their Sliver army at a mana cost. This mechanic drew upon the game's long-standing fascination with the Sliver creature type, which functions as a hive mind where individual members share their biological traits with the collective.
The version from Time Spiral Remastered, released in 2021, features updated card frames while preserving the original illustration by Ron Spencer. Spencer’s artwork is noted for its grotesque, alien aesthetic, which captures the unsettling nature of the Sliver hive. Upon its re-release, the card was well-received by players of the Commander format, who often include the creature in Sliver-tribal decks to increase the survivability of their board state.
