Prodigious Growth

Prodigious Growth was released in the Core Set 2019 expansion for Magic: The Gathering. As a common rarity aura enchantment, it was designed primarily to function within the Limited environment of the set, providing a straightforward way for green decks to push damage through by granting a creature significant power and toughness boosts along with trample. The card follows the traditional design philosophy of 'size-matters' mechanics that have been a staple of green's mechanical identity since the game's inception.

The artwork for this piece was illustrated by Zack Stella, a long-time contributor to the Magic: The Gathering art team. Stella's vision for the card captures the thematic essence of rapid, untamed natural expansion, depicting a creature empowered by wild, twisting overgrowth. Upon its release, the card was received as a functional, utility-focused addition to the core collection, valued by players for its ability to turn smaller creatures into immediate threats during draft and sealed play.
