Provenance

Where it came from

The Q: Stacking the Deck card was released as part of the Star Trek Customizable Card Game, produced by Decipher, Inc. during the mid-1990s. This card was featured in the Premiere set, which served as the foundation for the game's expansion into the Star Trek universe, allowing players to engage in strategic duels by utilizing the iconic characters, ships, and scenarios found across the series.

The design of the card utilizes high-quality photography sourced directly from the production stills of Star Trek: The Next Generation. The art direction focused on capturing the capricious and omnipotent nature of the character Q, played by John de Lancie. Upon its release, the card was received as a key component for deck building, valued by players for its thematic alignment with the character's penchant for manipulating the outcome of events within the game's mechanics.
