What it does

Raid — At the beginning of your second main phase, for each player dealt combat damage this turn, you get a point counter and create a 2/2 black Pirate creature token with menace.

Whenever you planeswalk away from here, each player with the most point counters or tied for the most point counters creates three Treasure tokens and draws three cards. Then remove all point counters from each player.

Whenever Chaos ensues, proliferate for each Pirate you control.

Provenance

Where it came from

Raiders' Allegiance originated as part of the Planechase supplemental expansion for Magic: The Gathering, specifically featured within the specialized planar deck structures that simulate the shifting landscapes of the game's multiverse. This card serves as a plane card, a larger-format card used to represent the various locations players might find themselves in during a game, and it was crafted to provide unique, environment-altering mechanics that favor aggressive, combat-focused strategies consistent with the 'Raiders' theme.

The design of the card emphasizes the chaotic nature of the plane it represents, utilizing atmospheric illustration and keyword-based effects to immerse players in its lore. Like other entries in the Planechase series, the visual direction was steered by the Wizards of the Coast art department to maintain continuity with the broader aesthetic of the Magic: The Gathering mythos, resulting in a piece that functions both as a mechanical tool for gameplay and a thematic expansion of the game's expansive narrative world.
