Rakdos Carnarium

Rakdos Carnarium was originally introduced in the 2006 Magic: The Gathering set Dissension, representing the chaotic and hedonistic guild of the same name from the plane of Ravnica. Designed as part of a cycle of bouncelands, the card mechanically forces a player to return a land to their hand, providing efficient mana fixing at the cost of tempo. The artwork for the Commander Anthology version, illustrated by Stephan Martiniere, captures the industrial, spiked aesthetic of the Rakdos guild, emphasizing their flair for theatrical brutality.

The Commander Anthology release served to reprint popular utility cards that had become staples in the Commander format. Because the Carnarium provides two colors of mana using a single land slot, it remains a reliable inclusion for multicolor decks, particularly those that do not rely on aggressive, early-game pacing.
