Where it came from
Rally the Ancestors was released in 2015 as part of the Fate Reforged set for Magic: The Gathering. Set in the Tarkir plane's distant past, the card draws on the block's central theme of time travel and the shifting destiny of the dragon-worshipping Mardu Horde. It was designed to mechanically represent the ancestral magic of the clan, allowing players to temporarily bring fallen warriors back to the battlefield to strike one final time before they are exiled.
