Where it came from
The Resistance Fighter card from the Star Wars: Visions set, numbered 18, serves as a representation of the expanded universe's focus on the diverse array of soldiers serving the Resistance during the conflict against the First Order. These cards were produced to highlight the aesthetic diversity and grassroots nature of the military force, drawing visual inspiration from the various design elements established in the sequel trilogy.
The artistry behind the Visions set emphasizes a stylized, high-contrast look that distinguishes it from traditional cinematic trading cards. Designers aimed to capture a sense of action and immediacy, focusing on the character's equipment and grit. Upon release, the set was noted by hobbyists for its departure from standard film stills, favoring vibrant, illustrative interpretations that prioritize the character's role in the overarching narrative over photorealism.
