Return of the Wildspeaker

Return of the Wildspeaker was originally released as a rare green sorcery in the 2019 expansion Throne of Eldraine. The set drew heavily from Arthurian legend and Grimm's fairy tales, aiming to capture a whimsical yet dangerous folklore aesthetic. This specific promotional version, numbered 172s, features distinct borderless artwork created by Magali Villeneuve, a prominent illustrator in the field who sought to emphasize the character’s connection to the untamed magic of the realm.

The card was distributed as part of promotional efforts surrounding the set's release, often appearing in collector boosters or as event-specific rewards. Upon its introduction, the design was well-received by the player base for its versatility as both a draw engine and a power-buffing spell. Its thematic resonance with the set's high-fantasy focus helped it become a staple in various green-aligned decks, solidifying its place as a functional and artistic highlight of the Throne of Eldraine era.
