Ricochet Trap

Ricochet Trap first appeared as an uncommon card in the 2010 Worldwake expansion for Magic: The Gathering. Designed by Wizards of the Coast, it belongs to a cycle of trap cards introduced in the Zendikar block that players could cast for a reduced cost if an opponent performed specific actions during their turn. The card was mechanically engineered to punish blue-aligned decks by allowing a red player to redirect an instant or sorcery spell for a single red mana, provided the opponent had cast a blue spell that turn.

The card features artwork by illustrator Dan Dos Santos, who utilized a vivid, action-oriented aesthetic consistent with the adventurous, landscape-focused theme of the Zendikar setting.
