Vampire Envoy

Vampire Envoy was originally released in the 2016 Magic: The Gathering set Oath of the Gatewatch, designed by Wizards of the Coast as part of the Zendikar block. The card features a recurring creature type central to the plane of Zendikar, portraying the vampires of that world as aristocratic yet predatory beings. Its mechanics were intended to provide players with a mid-range flyer capable of providing utility in limited play environments, reflecting the set's focus on synergy and combat-oriented strategies.

The inclusion of this specific card in The List—a rotating selection of reprints curated by Wizards of the Coast—highlights its enduring presence in the game's expansive history. As part of a curated pool intended to introduce newer players to past sets, the card serves as a bridge between modern expansions and the thematic identity of older releases. While not a centerpiece of competitive play, its presence on The List allows it to remain accessible to players who appreciate the visual design and world-building associated with the Zendikar narrative arc.
