Roc of Kher Ridges

The Roc of Kher Ridges card from the Summer Magic set, known internally at Wizards of the Coast as 'Edgar,' was produced in 1994 as a limited replacement print run of the Revised Edition. Following significant errors in the Revised set, such as muted colors and misprints, Summer Magic was intended to correct these production faults. However, the print run was largely destroyed before hitting the mass market, leaving only a small number of sets to enter circulation via internal distribution.

The art for this card, originally featured in the Alpha and Beta sets, was illustrated by Dameon Willich. The aesthetic reflects the early high-fantasy style of Magic: The Gathering, emphasizing hand-drawn character designs. Because the Summer Magic print run was so restricted and largely accidental in its public release, the cards were initially overlooked by the general player base, only later gaining legendary status among collectors for their scarcity and the corrected, vibrant print quality that differentiates them from the standard Revised Edition.
