Rustvale Bridge

Rustvale Bridge was released in 2021 as part of the Modern Horizons 2 expansion for Magic: The Gathering. The card belongs to a cycle of artifact lands known as the 'indestructible dual lands,' which were designed to provide flexible mana fixing for various formats while introducing a powerful land type that interacts with artifact-themed strategies. The inclusion of these cards in a set focused on Modern-legal reprints and new cards was intended to bolster archetypes that rely on synergy between artifacts and land-based mechanics.

The artwork for Rustvale Bridge was created by Adam Paquette, a long-time contributor to the game's aesthetic. His design choice highlights the intersection of the natural world and the artificial nature of the bridge, emphasizing a weathered, elemental look that fits the aesthetic of the Modern Horizons 2 setting. Upon release, the cycle was well-received by players for its utility in both casual and competitive play, particularly in formats like Pauper where the card's indestructible quality provides significant resilience against common board-clearing effects.
