What it does
blue mana red mana, tap: Create a token that's a copy of another target creature or artifact you control, except it's an artifact in addition to its other types. It gains haste. Sacrifice it at the beginning of the next end step.
What began as a single gift for Huatli became a battalion of automatons unlike anything ever seen on Ixalan.

Where it came from
Saheeli, the Sun's Brilliance was released as part of the promotional suite for the 2023 Magic: The Gathering expansion, The Lost Caverns of Ixalan. The card represents the character Saheeli Rai, a master artificer from the plane of Kaladesh, depicted here in a specialized borderless treatment that emphasizes the set's subterranean and crystalline aesthetic. It was designed to function within the Commander format, featuring mechanics that focus on artifact token creation and temporary replication of permanents.
The artwork for this specific promotional iteration was produced to highlight the character's ingenuity and connection to the mystical energies of Ixalan. By utilizing a unique frame exclusive to this promo line, the design differentiates itself from the standard set release, aiming to appeal to collectors who prioritize thematic visual consistency and alternate card treatments. The card was distributed through various organized play and promotional channels associated with the set's debut.
