Serrated Arrows

Serrated Arrows was originally released in the 1994 Homelands expansion, designed by the Magic: The Gathering development team to provide utility in a set themed around legendary figures and dark, gothic fantasy. The card functions as a repeatable damage source, reflecting the flavor of a weapon that leaves behind remnants of its bite. It was conceptualized as an artifact that allows players to exert control over small creatures, fitting into the strategic landscape of early Magic by offering a colorless solution to early-game threats.

The version included in the 2006 Time Spiral 'Timeshifted' set serves as a nostalgic callback, featuring the iconic purple expansion symbol and a return to the original 1994 illustration by Dameon Willich. This specific printing was part of an effort by Wizards of the Coast to bring classic, mechanically interesting cards back into the modern tournament environment. Its reception among players has remained steady, as it is often appreciated for its technical precision and its role as a piece of Magic history preserved through the game's evolving aesthetics.
