Shambling Vent

Shambling Vent was introduced as part of the Edge of Eternities: Stellar Sights set, designed to expand the land-based mechanical landscape of the game. As a dual-color utility land, it was crafted to provide players with a source of colored mana while offering a creature-based threat in the later stages of a match. This dual functionality is a hallmark of strategic card design, intended to mitigate resource management challenges during competitive play.

The artwork was commissioned from Mark Poole, a veteran illustrator known for his distinct, atmospheric style within the genre. Poole's interpretation of the card aimed to capture the unsettling, kinetic nature of a landscape coming to life, blending organic textures with a sense of cosmic instability. Upon release, the card was well-received by the player community for its versatility and the evocative quality of its visual presentation.
