Silundi Vision // Silundi Isle

Silundi Vision was released in the 2020 Magic: The Gathering set Zendikar Rising, a return to the adventure-themed plane of Zendikar. The card is a double-faced spell—a design mechanic central to this set that allows players to choose between playing the card as a sorcery or flipping it over to play it as a land, represented here as Silundi Isle. This duality was engineered to mitigate 'mana screw,' a common frustration in gameplay where a player draws too few land cards to cast their spells.

The artwork for Silundi Vision was illustrated by Johannes Voss, who utilized the set's vibrant, high-fantasy aesthetic to depict the mystical, water-filled vistas of the region. The design was intended to evoke the discovery of ancient, hidden knowledge, fitting the card's function as a blue-aligned spell that allows a player to look at the top of their library. The card was well-received by the competitive community for its utility in controlling the flow of a game, quickly becoming a staple in various formats.
