Where it came from
Six was introduced as a mythic rare creature in the 2024 set Modern Horizons 3. Designed as a powerful engine for green-aligned decks, the card plays into the set's focus on powerful, meta-defining effects that bridge the gap between retro design sensibilities and contemporary power levels. It was conceived as a recursive utility piece, specifically crafted to leverage the graveyard as a resource in high-stakes competitive formats.
The art was illustrated by Xavier Ribeiro, whose work on this piece captures the imposing, organic, and elemental nature of the character. The visual design emphasizes a sprawling, woodland aesthetic that complements its mechanical function of recovering land cards from the graveyard. Upon its release, the card was widely received as a cornerstone of the set, praised by competitive players for its efficiency and complex interactions within the Modern format.
