What it does
Put a +1/+1 counter on target creature you control. It gains hexproof until end of turn. (It can't be the target of spells or abilities your opponents control.)
"Does a serpent roar and chase its prey? No. A serpent waits silently for oblivious prey to draw near."

Where it came from
Snakeskin Veil was released in 2024 as part of the Foundations Jumpstart set, a product line designed to provide an accessible, streamlined entry point for new Magic: The Gathering players. The card serves as a protective instant, allowing a player to grant a creature hexproof and a +1/+1 counter, reflecting the game's long-standing tradition of green-aligned cards that provide temporary resilience to direct removal spells.
The artwork for this specific iteration emphasizes the naturalistic, camouflaged aesthetic common to the set's verdant themes. Like many cards in the Foundations collection, the design is intended to teach players about the mechanics of timing and interaction during combat, focusing on straightforward utility that remains relevant even as players progress to more complex formats.
