Spirit

The Spirit token from the Tarkir: Dragonstorm Tokens series was released by Wizards of the Coast in 2014 as part of the Magic: The Gathering Khans of Tarkir expansion. These tokens were designed to represent the ephemeral creatures summoned by various cards within the set, specifically those that created flying, non-legendary Spirit entities. Like other tokens in the set, they were printed on standard card stock and inserted into booster packs to provide players with a physical representation of summoned game pieces during competitive and casual play.

The visual design of the Spirit token adheres to the aesthetic established for the plane of Tarkir, a world defined by its intense draconic history and warring clans. The illustration emphasizes a translucent, ghostly quality, aligning with the specific thematic focus of the Orzhov or Jeskai-affiliated mechanics prevalent in the block. While individual artists are often assigned to these supplemental pieces to maintain a cohesive artistic language across the expansion, the card is valued by collectors primarily as a functional component of the game's mechanics rather than a standalone art print.
