Squadron Hawk

Squadron Hawk was originally introduced in the Magic: The Gathering Worldwake set in 2010. Designed as a functional white creature, its unique ability to search the library for copies of itself allowed players to thin their decks and maintain card advantage. This utility made it a staple of competitive play, most notably defining the Caw-Blade archetype that dominated the standard format in 2011.

The Masters 25 version, released in 2018 to celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the game, features distinct artwork by Martina Pilcerova. While the original card art focused on the tactical coordination of the hawks, Pilcerova’s reimagining provides a fresh visual interpretation, maintaining the species' iconic silhouette while aligning with the aesthetic standards of the modern reprint set. It is considered a quintessential utility common within the game's expansive history.
