Starlight Invoker

Starlight Invoker was released in 2007 as part of the Magic: The Gathering Tenth Edition core set. The card was originally introduced during the Onslaught block to provide players with a repeatable activated ability that allowed for flexible gameplay, fitting into the theme of Invokers who gain power through mana investment. Tenth Edition served as a milestone for the game, marking the first core set to feature black-bordered cards in all markets and introducing a new, modern card frame that enhanced legibility for the broader player base.

The artwork for this iteration was illustrated by Greg Staples, who rendered the Invoker with an ethereal, celestial quality that emphasizes its role as a channeler of cosmic power. His design captures the high-fantasy aesthetic characteristic of the era, focusing on vibrant lighting and intricate costuming to distinguish the character. While the card is a functional reprint, its inclusion in Tenth Edition helped solidify its place in the game's long-running history, and it remains a recognizable example of the mid-2000s design evolution within the collectible card game.
