Stensia

Stensia is a plane card featured in the 2016 Planechase Anthology, a collection that revitalized the chaotic multiplayer format originally introduced by Wizards of the Coast in 2009. Within the lore of Magic: The Gathering, Stensia represents a rugged, mountainous province of the gothic horror setting of Innistrad. The card mechanic allows players to visit this location during a game, evoking the flavor of the plane's dangerous, fog-drenched geography where humans survive under the constant threat of vampiric predators.

The art for this card captures the jagged, vertical landscape characteristic of the region, emphasizing the brooding atmosphere intended to immerse players in the plane's dark thematic roots. As part of a reprint collection, the design maintains the established aesthetic of the Innistrad block, focusing on high-contrast visuals that highlight the harsh environment. It was received by the community as a functional and thematic centerpiece for horror-themed multiplayer decks, reinforcing the plane's identity as a place of isolation and survival.
