What it does
When you encounter Morphic Tide, each player shuffles all permanents they own into their library, then reveals that many cards from the top of their library. Each player puts all artifact, creature, land, and planeswalker cards revealed this way onto the battlefield, then does the same for enchantment cards, then puts all cards revealed this way that weren't put onto the battlefield on the bottom of their library in any order. (Then planeswalk away from this phenomenon.)

Where it came from
Morphic Tide was originally released as part of the Planechase Anthology set in 2016. This card functions as a plane card, a unique component of the Planechase format that introduces shifting environmental effects to games of Magic: The Gathering. The card was designed to embody the unpredictable and volatile nature of the blind eternities, challenging players to navigate a board state that periodically resets to keep the gameplay dynamic.
The artwork for this card was created by Svetlin Velinov, a veteran illustrator for the franchise. His design leans into the ethereal, fluid aesthetics associated with deep-sea or cosmic imagery, using sweeping lines and cool color palettes to evoke a sense of inevitable change. Within the player community, the card is recognized for its disruptive potential, often utilized as a strategic tool to stabilize a losing game by sweeping the board clean.
