Where it came from
Stick Together was released in 2022 as part of the Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate set for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. The set was designed as a standalone draftable experience that drew heavily from the Dungeons & Dragons Forgotten Realms campaign setting, aiming to capture the collaborative and social nature of party-based roleplaying within a competitive card game environment.
The card features artwork by the illustrator Volkan Baga, who is a staple of the Magic: The Gathering aesthetic. His contribution to this piece reflects the high-fantasy visual language of the Baldur's Gate expansion, emphasizing the theme of kinship and collective strength found within the game's mechanics. Upon release, the set was received as a flavorful exploration of D&D lore, though it faced varying reception regarding its balance for high-level competitive play.
