Where it came from
Stomping Ground is a hallmark land card within the Magic: The Gathering ecosystem, originating as part of the Ravnica: City of Guilds block. It was designed to represent the Gruul Clans, a faction defined by their wild, anarchic nature and rejection of modern civilization. The card belongs to a cycle of 'shock lands' that allow players to pay two life to enter the land untapped, a mechanic that balances power with a tangible cost for mana efficiency.
The 258p promo version from the Edge of Eternities promotion features distinct art that highlights the rugged, overgrown aesthetic of the Gruul territory. This specific print was released to offer a visually unique iteration of the card for players and collectors, emphasizing the raw, untamed energy of the plane of Ravnica. Like its predecessors, it remains a foundational staple in competitive formats due to its versatility and ability to fix mana bases reliably.
