Strictly Better // Strictly Better (cont'd)

Strictly Better was released as part of the Phyrexia: All Will Be One Minigames, a series of promotional cards distributed during the 2023 release events for the Magic: The Gathering set Phyrexia: All Will Be One. These cards were designed as lighthearted, meta-commentary game pieces rather than traditional competitive cards, intended to inject a sense of humor into the game by poking fun at the long-standing community obsession with identifying the most efficient spells in the game's meta.

The card's design features minimalist, sharp aesthetics consistent with the visual language of the Phyrexians, playing on the phrase strictly better, which is shorthand used by players to describe cards that offer superior utility to existing options. It was received as a tongue-in-cheek nod to the dedicated player base, serving more as a collectible curiosity or an unconventional playgroup challenge than a staple of tournament play.
