Sultai Charm

Sultai Charm was originally introduced in the Fate Reforged set of Magic: The Gathering, designed to represent the multifaceted nature of the Sultai Brood, a clan rooted in the lore of the Tarkir plane. The card serves as a versatile utility spell, offering players three distinct choices: destroying a creature, destroying an enchantment, or drawing cards while discarding a card. This flexibility reflects the cunning and opportunistic identity of the Sultai faction, which historically favored dark magic and necromancy to maintain its grip on power.

The version included in the Dominaria United Commander set features the mechanical identity established during the card's debut, adapted for the Commander format's unique landscape. The original art, crafted by illustrator Mathias Kollros, emphasizes the brooding, swamp-like atmosphere of the clan's domain. The card has generally been received as a solid, functional piece of toolkit design, praised by players for its ability to provide answers across a wide variety of gameplay situations without committing to a single type of interaction.
