Svella, Ice Shaper // Svella, Ice Shaper

Svella, Ice Shaper was released as part of the Kaldheim Art Series, a collection of cards featuring enlarged, borderless illustrations from the core Kaldheim expansion. Kaldheim was designed as a top-down set inspired by Norse mythology, aiming to capture the harsh, icy aesthetic and epic storytelling of the Viking sagas. The series was created to highlight the detailed craftsmanship of the game's illustrators, presenting the card art as a standalone collectible piece without the typical game mechanics text obscuring the image.

The artwork for Svella was created by illustrator Johannes Voss, who focused on conveying the character's mastery over frozen elements through swirling, magical motifs and cold color palettes. Voss is known for a painterly, atmospheric style that emphasizes the character's connection to the frozen landscape. Upon its release, the Kaldheim Art Series was well-received by fans of the game's aesthetic, who appreciated the opportunity to focus on the world-building details of the plane of Kaldheim.
