Narfi, Betrayer King // Narfi, Betrayer King

Narfi, Betrayer King was released in 2021 as part of the Kaldheim Art Series, a collection of cards featuring enlarged, borderless illustrations from the Magic: The Gathering expansion of the same name. This set was designed to highlight the work of fantasy illustrators by presenting their art on high-quality, non-gameplay cards, allowing players and enthusiasts to appreciate the visual world-building of the Kaldheim plane, which draws heavily from Norse mythology.

The artwork for this specific card was created by Simon Dominic, who depicted the titular draugr king with an emphasis on cold, necromantic themes. The design was intended to evoke the harsh, icy aesthetic of the setting, portraying Narfi as a formidable and ancient undead figure. Within the collector community, these Art Series cards are valued primarily for their aesthetic appeal and as pieces of commemorative memorabilia rather than as functional components for deck construction.
