Provenance

Where it came from

The Talisman of Progress was released as part of the Secret Lair Drop Series, a specialized line of Magic: The Gathering cards featuring unique, high-concept artwork often produced in limited availability windows. This specific iteration, identified by collector number 1052, serves as a functional reprint of the original artifact card, which was first introduced in the 2003 Mirrodin expansion to provide mana acceleration in color-aligned pairs.

The artistic direction for this drop leaned into a distinct aesthetic departure from the standard game art, utilizing a stylized approach intended to highlight the artifact's theme of growth and progression. Collectors and players generally receive these Secret Lair versions as premium aesthetic variants, valued for their collectibility and the way they provide a fresh visual identity for staple cards within popular game formats like Commander.
