Where it came from
The Tellah, Great Sage card (244s) was issued as part of the Final Fantasy Trading Card Game promotional series. Produced by Square Enix, this set was designed to bolster the community surrounding the game by offering alternate-art or foil-stamped versions of fan-favorite characters from the series' extensive history. Tellah originates from Final Fantasy IV, a title celebrated for its narrative depth and the pivotal, tragic sacrifice of the aging sage, which left a lasting impact on players.
The design of this promotional card emphasizes the stoic and weathered appearance of Tellah, utilizing character art that highlights his role as a master of both white and black magic. These promo cards were typically distributed through local game store events and tournament participation, aimed at rewarding dedicated players and collectors. Reception remains steady among enthusiasts of the Final Fantasy TCG, who value the card for its aesthetic tribute to one of the series' most iconic spellcasters.
