What it does
Whenever you cast a noncreature spell, create a 1/1 colorless Hero creature token. If four or more mana was spent to cast that spell, draw two cards. If eight or more mana was spent to cast that spell, sacrifice Tellah and it deals that much damage to each opponent.

Where it came from
Tellah, Great Sage (2-044) is a card from the Opus II set of the Final Fantasy Trading Card Game, which was released internationally by Square Enix in 2017. The card depicts the iconic elderly sage from Final Fantasy IV, a title originally released for the Super Nintendo in 1991. The game series is renowned for its character-driven narrative, and Tellah’s depiction here captures his pivotal role as a powerful, albeit short-tempered, magic user seeking vengeance for his daughter.
The artwork follows the standardized high-fantasy aesthetic consistent with the Opus series, utilizing official character illustrations from the Final Fantasy archives to maintain visual continuity. These cards were designed to serve both as collectibles for long-time fans of the franchise and as tactical components for competitive gameplay. Since its launch, the set has been well-regarded among TCG enthusiasts for balancing nostalgia with the intricate mechanics required for the game’s deep, evolving meta.
