Where it came from
Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas was originally introduced in the 2011 Magic: The Gathering set Mirrodin Besieged, designed to represent the character's turn toward the villainous Nicol Bolas. The card quickly became a staple in competitive formats due to its powerful ability to manipulate artifacts and provide card advantage, cementing its place in the game's lore as a pivotal planeswalker card.
This specific version originates from the Mythic Edition released in 2018, which featured premium, borderless, alternate-art versions of iconic planeswalkers. The artwork for this iteration was created by Aleksi Briclot, who sought to capture the character's cold, metallic aesthetic and his deep connection to the artificial plane of New Phyrexia. It was highly sought after by collectors for its distinct visual style and limited availability compared to the standard printing.
