What it does
When you planeswalk here, each player who controls their commander draws a card. Other players may put their commander from the command zone onto the battlefield.
If an ability of your commander would trigger during your turn, that ability triggers an additional time.
Whenever chaos ensues, the number of times each commander has been cast from the command zone becomes 0. (This resets commander tax.)

Where it came from
The Command Zone was released as part of the Planechase 2012 card set, designed by Wizards of the Coast to introduce a multiplayer variant where players travel between different planes of the Magic: The Gathering multiverse. This card serves as a dedicated global enchantment that acts as a specialized utility space, allowing players to utilize the unique mechanics of the Planechase format. It was crafted to provide a fixed home for the planar deck, ensuring that the game state remains organized during the chaotic transitions inherent to the format.
The visual design of the card emphasizes its functional role as a stabilizing element within the game, featuring iconography consistent with the arcane, shifting nature of the Blind Eternities. Developed by the Magic R&D team during a period focused on expanding Commander and casual multiplayer play, the card was well-received by the player base for its clarity. It successfully streamlined the setup process for Planechase games, becoming a standard inclusion for enthusiasts of the variant.
