Where it came from
The Convention Enthusiast, cataloged as RZ05l, emerges from a series of promotional trading cards distributed at various hobby and fan conventions. These cards were designed as commemorative keepsakes intended to foster community engagement during regional gatherings, often serving as small rewards for attendees who participated in interactive workshops or meet-and-greet sessions.
The design of the card leans into a minimalist aesthetic, utilizing a bright, energetic color palette to evoke the excitement of pop culture events. While the specific illustrator of the RZ05l series is not widely credited, the series as a whole was received by the collecting community as an accessible, lighthearted entry point for new hobbyists interested in documenting their experiences at fan-focused conventions.
