What it does
If you would draw a card, you may instead choose mana base, removal, or win condition and reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a card of the chosen kind. Put that card into your hand and the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order. (Mana base cards add mana. Removal cards are instants and sorceries that can damage, destroy, or exile opposing permanents. Win conditions cost 6 or more mana.)

Where it came from
The Salubrious Philosopher, cataloged as RZ04x, originated from a limited promotional initiative known as the Unknown Event. Produced to commemorate the intersection of speculative card games and underground art movements, the item was designed to function as both a functional game piece and an experimental work of visual media. Its aesthetic choices prioritize minimalist iconography and stark, high-contrast layouts, reflecting the design sensibilities of the late-era independent card production scene that aimed to subvert traditional tabletop game art.
The design was credited to a collective of anonymous illustrators operating under the umbrella of the event organizers. Their stated goal was to evoke a sense of transient wisdom, using the character of the Philosopher to anchor the broader thematic arc of the set. Upon its release, the card received a modest but dedicated reception among avant-garde collectors who appreciated its departure from the high-fantasy tropes common to the genre at the time, leading it to become a quiet fixture in niche hobby circles.
