Thriving Bluff

Thriving Bluff was released in 2022 as part of the Jumpstart 2022 expansion for Magic: The Gathering. This set was designed to facilitate a specific, fast-paced style of play where players combine two semi-randomized 20-card packs to form a deck, prioritizing accessibility for newer players and variety for veterans. The Thriving cycle of lands, including the Bluff, were included to provide essential mana fixing in a limited environment, ensuring that players could consistently cast their spells regardless of their color combinations.

The card features artwork by Titus Lunter, who has contributed extensively to the visual language of the game. The design follows the established aesthetic of the Thriving lands, focusing on vibrant, atmospheric landscapes that represent the diverse biomes of the Magic multiverse. Upon release, the card was well-received by the community for its mechanical utility, as it remains a staple in budget-friendly Commander decks and Jumpstart-based play due to its flexibility in generating either red mana or any other color of the player's choice.
