Thriving Grove

Thriving Grove was released in 2023 as part of The Lost Caverns of Ixalan Commander set, a collection designed to complement the main expansion's exploration of a subterranean, prehistoric world. This card belongs to a cycle of 'Thriving' lands, which function as versatile mana-fixing tools for Commander players. By allowing a player to choose a color upon entry, it provides a functional and accessible way for deck builders to ensure consistency in multi-colored strategies without relying on expensive rare lands.

The visual design of the card leans into the lush, vibrant aesthetic of the Ixalan plane, featuring sprawling, verdant flora that suggests an ancient and untouched ecosystem. As a common land, its design prioritizes utility and clarity, serving as a staple inclusion for budget-conscious deck builders. It was well-received upon release for its reliability in casual play environments and its ability to help new players navigate the complexities of color mana management.
