Tibalt's Rager

Tibalt's Rager was first introduced in the 2020 Magic: The Gathering set Jumpstart. The set was designed to facilitate a unique, quick-play experience where players could combine two semi-randomized themed booster packs to form a deck, bypassing the need for traditional deck construction. Within this context, the card was included as part of the 'Chaos' theme, reflecting the unpredictable and often destructive nature associated with the Planeswalker Tibalt.

The card features artwork by illustrator Johannes Voss, who rendered the creature with the high-energy, fiery aesthetic characteristic of red-aligned cards in the game. Designed as a common-rarity creature with a specialized ability that deals damage upon its death, the card functions as an efficient utility piece for aggressive deck strategies. It was well-received by players looking for straightforward, synergistic components that fit seamlessly into the fast-paced gameplay loop that defines the Jumpstart format.
