Provenance

Where it came from

The Tiger-Seal card is part of the Avatar: The Last Airbender trading card series produced by Topps in 2006. Released shortly after the animated series established itself as a cultural phenomenon, these cards were designed to capture the unique hybrid wildlife of the show's world, emphasizing the imaginative creature design that bridged the gap between familiar animals and fantasy concepts.

The design of the card leans into the show's aesthetic, utilizing animation stills paired with informative text detailing the habitat and behavior of the creature. While the card is a standard piece of a wider collectible set, it is valued by fans for its focus on the 'animal-hybrid' aspect of the series, reflecting the show's attention to environmental world-building and the distinctive visual language established by the Nickelodeon animation team.
