Where it came from
Tireless Provisioner was originally released as a rare creature in the 2021 set Modern Horizons 2, designed to provide ramp and utility for green decks. The Secret Lair version, featuring the collector number 2057, was produced as part of the specialized, limited-run series that allows Wizards of the Coast to commission unique illustrative styles for existing cards. This particular variant serves as a visual reimagining of the character, moving away from the standard set aesthetic to offer a distinct artistic interpretation for collectors and players who prioritize deck customization.
The artwork for this version was commissioned to emphasize the card's theme of foraging and environmental resourcefulness. By utilizing a stylized approach that contrasts with the traditional high-fantasy art seen in the main expansion, the designers aimed to provide a fresh visual experience. Like many cards within the Secret Lair program, this item is noted for its premium finish and its role as a bridge between competitive gameplay and the growing market for collectible, artist-driven trading card variants.
