Where it came from
Travel Preparations was originally released in the 2011 Magic: The Gathering set Innistrad, designed to evoke the gothic horror themes of the plane. The card represents the necessary equipment and spiritual vigilance required to survive the perils of the setting, mechanics-wise providing a +1/+1 boost to two target creatures with a flashback ability that allows it to be played twice.
For the Innistrad Remastered set, this card was selected to return as part of a curated collection intended to distill the most iconic gameplay experiences of the original block. The illustration, consistent with the set's dark aesthetic, emphasizes the grounded, gritty nature of life within the world of Innistrad, reflecting a design philosophy that balances tactical utility with thematic immersion.
