Provenance

Where it came from

The Tricky Mage card, indexed as UU03, originated from the Unknown Event promotional set. This series was released as part of an experimental initiative to distribute limited-edition cards at select gaming conventions and community gatherings, designed to test alternative mechanics and artistic styles outside of the standard game balance.

The visual design of the card emphasizes a whimsical, slightly chaotic aesthetic, featuring illustration work that leans into fantasy-art tropes common to the era. It was received by the collector community as a curiosity piece, valued more for its scarcity and status as a commemorative artifact than for its competitive utility in organized play.
