Trumpet Blast

Trumpet Blast was originally released in the 1999 Urza's Destiny set as a common red instant, designed to provide a tactical combat trick that encouraged aggressive playstyles. Its mechanics allow a player to grant a temporary power boost to all creatures they control, reflecting the chaotic and sudden nature of a battlefield charge. The card has seen several reprints over the decades, appearing in various core sets and specialty products, which solidified its role as a functional, low-rarity staple for limited format gameplay.

The version from the Masters 25 set, released in 2018, features updated card frame styling that adheres to the modern aesthetic of the Magic: The Gathering brand. While the original illustration by D. Alexander Gregory captured the chaotic movement of a traditional heraldic scene, the Masters 25 printing utilizes the card's established identity to celebrate the history of the game. It was included in this set specifically to provide drafting support for red-based aggressive archetypes, maintaining its status as a reliable utility card rather than a high-value collector's piece.
