Trumpeting Armodon

Trumpeting Armodon was released in October 1997 as part of the Tempest expansion for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. Developed by Wizards of the Coast, Tempest was the first set in the Rath Cycle and is remembered by players for its focus on aggressive mechanics and the introduction of the buyback keyword. The card reflects the set's high-fantasy setting, depicting a large, elephantine beast adapted to the harsh environments of the Rath plane.

The card’s illustration was created by artist Heather Hudson, whose work defined much of the visual identity for Magic during the late 1990s. Hudson employed a textured, painterly style that became a hallmark of the era's creature designs.
