Twilight Mire

Twilight Mire was originally introduced in the Shadowmoor set as part of a cycle of filter lands designed to provide flexible color fixing for multicolored decks. The Zendikar Expeditions version reimagined this card with premium, full-art aesthetics, released as a high-rarity chase inclusion within booster packs of the 2015 Battle for Zendikar set. These expedition cards were created to commemorate the exploration-heavy theme of the plane of Zendikar, utilizing a distinct, luxurious visual frame that set them apart from standard versions.

The art for this expedition variant was created by Slawomir Maniak, who focused on the ethereal and decaying beauty of the mire environment to align with the land's Golgari-aligned mana production. By stripping away the traditional text box in favor of expansive, immersive art, the design emphasizes the legendary status of these lands within the Magic: The Gathering multiverse. The release was met with significant enthusiasm from the player community, establishing these expeditions as some of the most sought-after collectible cards in the game's modern history.
