Vault of Champions

Vault of Champions was released in November 2020 as part of the Commander Legends set, the first Magic: The Gathering booster product specifically designed for the Commander format. It was created to provide a cycle of allied-colored 'partner' lands, helping players smooth out their mana bases in multi-colored decks while providing utility during the mid-to-late game through its ability to tap for two colors if an opponent controls at least two creatures.

The artwork for this piece was commissioned from illustrator Titus Lunter, who focused on a grand, atmospheric depiction of an ancient, gilded treasury that emphasizes the status and power associated with the card's function. The design was received favorably by the Commander community upon release, as it filled a practical need for efficient land cycles that scale with the game state, cementing its place as a staple in high-performance deck building.
